STAMFORD — The city’s acclaimed youth orchestra will hold early auditions next week for new members who wish to participate in its upcoming concert season.

The Stamford Young Artists Philharmonic, one of the area’s premiere youth ensembles, will hold auditions by appointment on Thursday, July 7, at the Ferguson Library.

For more than 50 years, the Stamford Young Artists Philharmonic has educated young musicians from across Connecticut and northern Westchester county.

More than 150 musicians, from elementary school through college level, comprise the philharmonic’s three orchestras. Under the batons of conductors Christian Capocaccia, Gregory Robbins and Barbara DiFranco, students prepare and perform classic symphonic works.
